Maybe
not after the first “Hello”...but in a longer conversation
you will notice a gentle accent. Anna was born on October 19th, 1980
in Sweden. She grew up in Uppsala, a city about 50 miles north of
Stockholm.
Anna
has been an active athlete her entire life. During high school, Anna
combined her studies with sports. Not only did she earn top grades
in academics, but she excelled in many athletic pursuits before determining
Martial Arts as her sport of choice. At age 17, Anna won the Swedish
Championship in Tae Kwon Do.
After
high school, Anna travelled to the US to improve her English and
experience a different culture. While in the states, she spent her
spare time focusing on her training. By the end of this first visit,
she competed and won the USA World Championship in Tae Kwon Do in
Las Vegas.
After
her first visit to the states, Anna returned to Sweden and gained
certifications as a Fitness Instructor, Personal Trainer, and Nutrition
Adviser from the Scandinavian Academy of Fitness Education. She continued
her education at Uppsala University to pursue a degree in Physical
Therapy.
Anna
worked as a Personal Trainer during her studies and she also took
extra courses in Sports Medicine at a different University in Sweden.
At the same time, she was preparing for her first Fitness competition! “I
wanted to do a fitness show to find out what it was all about. I
wanted to demonstrate a level of experience that would promote confidence
in my abilities as a personal trainer among my clients,” states
Anna. And it exceeded expectations! At age 21, Anna won the Swedish
Championship in Athletic Fitness in 2002. – In Athletic Fitness
you compete in a symmetry round, an obstacle course, pull-ups, and
dips. After the win, Anna was asked to try out for the popular Swedish
TV program The Gladiators. Within a few days, she got her name “Blade”,
as one of the new Gladiators!
Anna
has been working in television and modeling since 2002. Anna is not
only comfortable in front of the camera; she is also at ease in public
speaking situations. She has done a lot of seminars for different
companies with the focus on nutrition and training in order to reach
various training goals.
Anna
received her Physical Therapy degree from Uppsala University. She
completed her mandatory final internship with Function First Inc.
in San Diego. In order to fulfill her degree, Anna also did a thesis
on the increasing obesity among young children worldwide. A very
important and interesting subject for Anna, where her goal is to
become a role model among youth for healthy living, she took this
research project to heart. She researched children in fifth grade
concerning nutrition and physical activity in and after school and
the results were concerning. Anna would like to use her education
in physical therapy, combined with her successes in fitness and her
experiences in nutrition to communicate the message of health and
nutrition to young people around the world.
Anna
is used to having a handful of things going on at the same time.
While she finished here last projects for school she started her
preparations, with guidance from Kim Oddo, with “Body By O” (www.bodybyo.com),
for her first appearance on a Figure/Fitness stage in the US. Anna
won her division at the NPC Orange County Muscle Classic in April
2004. A year and a half down the road, with Kim Oddo as her biggest
mentor, Anna has earned her IFBB Pro Figure status and is heading
for Figure Olympia 2005.
In
addition to being a sponsored athlete for various companies in Sweden,
such as nutrition companies, Anna has been a spokesperson for them
as well. Anna has been representing and demonstrating products at
various health and fitness conventions, fitness and bodybuilding
shows, health and fitness clubs, and nutrition stores around Sweden.
Not only does Anna have the knowledge on a scientific level through
her education, she uses these products as an active fitness competitor
and martial arts practitioner.
After a long time traveling back and fourth, Anna is very excited to say that
she is finally getting situated in the states. Being a new face in the US but
with a lot of experience from Sweden, Anna is especially interested in new
sponsors to work with, and is actively looking to become a spokesperson for
an American supplement company.
